Giving back to the customers and communities we serve is one of the great things we do as a local, community bank! Below is just a sample of some of the events, sponsorships and other activities that we do to help others in our communities.

Friday, August 22, 2025 154th Annual Customer Appreciation Cookout- A Huge Success! - Thank you to all our amazing customers who joined us for a beautiful day filled with delicious food, fun, and a special visit from the Pink Heals Sauk Valley IL Chapter firetruck. With generous donations from our customers, employees, and the bank, we proudly raised $2,500 for the Pink Heals Sauk Valley Chapter! Your support helps make a meaningful impact in our community. Here’s to 154 years of appreciation and many more to come!





Friday, August 15, 2025 Charitable Giving Program- Martin Miller, Business Banking and Digital Solutions Manager in Ottawa, was chosen for our August 2025 Charitable Giving presentation. Martin chose LaSalle County CASA as the organization to donate to. When asked why Martin chose this organization, Martin replied “As a current board member, I’m choosing to give to LaSalle County CASA because of their mission to advocate for the best interest of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. LaSalle County CASA gives a voice to these children when they need it most and helps to ensure they find a safe and permanent home, the way I did.”

Wednesday, August 6, 2025 Morris Police Dept National Night Out- A few of our OSB employees had a fantastic night attending Morris Police Departments National Night Out. We had a booth set up with games, prizes, and face painting that was done by our creative employee Laura (OSB/Magical Moment Face Painting and More). What a great night seeing everyone out in the Morris Community!


Friday, July 25, 2025 Ottawa Downtown Event - A BIG shoutout to Amanda (Retail Branch Manager-Ottawa) and Marty (Business Banking Solutions Manager) for voluteering at this years Drinkin' with Lincoln Brewfest event held in downtown Ottawa.

Thursday, July 3, 2025 Charitable Giving Program - Tracy Young, Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, was chosen for our July 2025 Charitable Giving program. Tracy chose the LaSalle County Farm Bureau foundation as the recipient of our donation. When asked why Tracy chose this organization, Tracy replied: I am choosing to donate to the LaSalle County Farm Bureau foundation because I believe in their mission to promote agriculture-related education and research. Agriculture is the backbone of our community and supporting initiatives that enhance the knowledge and skills of those involved in this vital sector is crucial. The Foundations efforts in sponsoring seminars and leadership training help ensure that our local farmers and agricultural professionals are well-equipped to face the challenges of the future. By contributing to this foundation, I am investing in the sustainability and growth of our agricultural community, which ultimately benefits us all.

Friday, June 27th, 2025 Marseilles Fun Days Music in the Park Sponsor- OSB was the proud sponsor of Music in the park last night during the Marseilles Fundays. Our employess had a great time visiting with the community. We gave away ice cream, water, and our creative Morris branch Manager Laura provided face painting for the kids.




Thursday, June 26, 2025 Charitable Giving Program - Bob Hauge, Mortgage Loan Officer in Marseilles, was chosen for the June 2025 Charitable Giving. Bob chose the Marseilles Christian Ministerial Association. When asked why Bob chose his organization, Bob replied: “The MCMA is made up of many volunteers from 8 churches in town. They help fund many different events for the people of Marseilles. The food pantry is the most notable, serving the needs of anyone that requires a little help. They also fund the community center that serves after school program for students of the grade school. The MCMA also uses the community center as a heating/cooling station during inclement weather. The cancer support group that meet monthly along with senior coffee and game days and many other activities are of great benefit to the community.”

Saturday, June 7th, 2025 OSB Shred day- Making a Difference Together! Thanks to the kindness of our team and customers, we contributed $1,250 along with food donations to the Ottawa Community Food Basket during our shred day event. Our staff enjoyed casual Fridays by donating $5 to support the cause as well! Thank you everyone!


Tuesday, May 6, 2025 Financial Literacy Month- In honor of Financial Literacy Month, throughout the month of April, employees showed their support by donating $5 each Friday for the opportunity to wear jeans. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to present a check to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), helping support their mission to advocate for children in need.

Tuesday, April 8, 2025 Charitable Giving Program- Sherri Laitila, Retail Manager in Marseilles, was chosen for our April 2025 Charitable Giving program. Sherri chose the Illinois Congress of Parents, also known as the Marseilles PTA. When asked why Sherri chose this organization, Sherri replied: The Marseilles PTA builds relationships between school, students, and teachers in a positive way. They support and fund all field trips, after school events, teacher/staff appreciations, and the annual Santa Shoppe. The 8th grade students just recently went on a trip to Washington DC!

Saturday, March 15, 2025 St. Patrick's Day Parade- The Marseilles St Patrick’s Day parade took place on March 15th and our employees tossed out candy to parade goers along the route!
Thursday, March 6, 2025 Ottawa Township High School Career Fair- Our OSB team had a fantastic time at the Ottawa Township High School Career Fair! It was a pleasure connecting with the next generation of community leaders and sharing what it means to be a part of the world of community banking. Thank you to OTHS for hosting such a great event — we’re proud to support local talent and invest in the future of our community!

February 2025 Seneca High Schoolers Visit to Learn About Banking- Students from Seneca High School returned this year to learn about career opportunities in community banking! They were able to learn about various job positions within the bank such as Teller, Loan Officer, and CEO. This was our fourth year welcoming students and we look forward to many future visits!

March 15, 2024 Seneca High Schoolers Visit to Learn About Banking- Thank you to Mrs. Foster and her students from Seneca High School for visiting with us to learn about career opportunities in community banking! Students were able to learn about various job positions within the bank such as Teller, Loan Officer, and CEO. This was our third year welcoming Mrs. Foster's class and we look forward to many future visits!

December 2023 Marseilles Holiday Parade- The Holiday Magic Lighted Santa Parade took place in Marseilles on Saturday, December 2nd. Santa visited with all of the good little boys and girls, and the city held its park and tree lighting following the parade. It was a beautiful night for such fun celebrations!

October 2023 Marseilles Fall Decorating Contest- The Marseilles Tourism and Park Committee hosted a fall decorating contest for local businesses and residents. Our Marseilles branch was voted 1st place in the contest for their friendly scarecrow displays! Such a fun event to help beautify our community!

October 1, 2023 Ottawa Annual Scarecrow Festival- A special thank you to our employees and their families for decorating the OSB float and passing out candy at this year's scarecrow festival!

September 16, 2023 OSB Pickleball Tournament- We held our very first employee pickleball tournament this month! We had about 25 employees and family members participate or observe. It rained and we had to dry the courts but that didn't stop us from some fun and friendly competition!

We'd like to thank all of our customers who have a school spirit checking account! We know you love to support your local schools and we are happy to do the same. This year, we donated over $8,700 to 11 local schools thanks to our customers who participate in this program. Our $10 cash donation for each active checking account really adds up!
